Play a breakdown

Most music-reactive lights flash on every beat. This one follows the shape of a trance track instead: it drifts through the groove, holds back in the breakdown and blooms when the chords lift. Press play to see exactly what amaran-mcp's music mode would do with an amaran light; the page behind it stands in for your wall.

Press play.

The light waits in the dark.

How close it gets

Each track's light was computed offline by the real pipeline from a silent capture of the exact upload the player streams, so the light and the music stay in step. Only the colours, the section calls and the marks are stored here, never audio. Music mode is far from perfect: scored on Creative Commons tracks held out from its training (cross-validation over 402), it finds about one breakdown start in ten. Every number, and what is still wrong, is in the research notes.

Play it twice

Play a song twice with music mode and the light makes the same moves at the same moments: the breakdown pales, the lift blooms and the drop opens out each time, within about a second. The colours change from play to play, on purpose, so a favourite never looks quite the same twice. This page is the exception: it replays one recording, so its light is identical every time.
